About the Role Forter seeks a highly skilled, motivated Senior Full-Stack Engineer II to join the Customer Experience Offerings (CXO) team. This team delivers and scales Forter's core offerings and agentic experiences, creating smart automation for customers to confidently understand, configure, and optimize their journey. Part of the Customer Experience group, this high-impact, hands-on role involves working across the full application stack - backend (Node.js, TypeScript), frontend (React, Next.js) and data pipelines. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in fullstack development, large-scale data stores, data models, and high-throughput infrastructure. As a Senior II, you will be a technical leader within the CXO team: owning complex initiatives end-to-end, raising the architectural and quality bar within your domain, mentoring peers, and partnering with cross teams to drive real customer impact. What You’ll Be Doing <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Act as the go-to technical expert across one or more core areas of the CXO platform, setting the standard for code quality, maintainability, and architecture for the team.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Drive technical decision-making on complex, mission-critical systems. Lead design reviews for large-scale initiatives and contribute to all major architectural decisions within your domain.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Own and deliver large, cross-system initiatives, handling open-ended problems with ambiguity. Define key success metrics and measure project impact post-delivery.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Proactively identify and drive improvements to system costs, scale, and operational stability.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, document pain points and suggestions, and drive improvements that benefit multiple teams.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Improve team processes: identify gaps in documentation, design/code review practices, and onboarding; propose and lead adoption of improvements.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Think like a product owner: proactively identify opportunities to improve the customer experience from quality-of-life improvements to impactful new capabilities and bring them to the roadmap.</li> </ul> Who Are You? <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">7+ years of experience as a software engineer, with deep expertise in full-stack development, including strong command of modern backend technologies (Node.js, TypeScript) and frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js).</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated track record as a go-to technical expert: you have led complex multi-system initiatives, set architectural standards, and influenced technical direction across teams.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience building customer-facing products and working closely with product managers and customer facing stakeholders. You think instinctively about user impact - not just technical correctness.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Hands-on production experience operating data systems at high scale - billions of records. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">You are comfortable working with Redis, Kafka, SQS, Elasticsearch, MySQL, and Snowflake. You know how to design efficient data-access layers, work with sharded and partitioned systems, optimize schema and query performance under load, and build reliable ingestion and transformation pipelines.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong familiarity with cloud-native environments. AWS experience is a significant advantage.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience building products or workflows powered by LLMs or Agentic AI.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience enabling and mentoring engineers on your team.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Excellent communication and collaboration skills. You can discuss architecture with engineers, align on roadmap with product managers, and explain tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience using modern AI development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar to accelerate development and improve quality.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Proven ability to self-manage, work autonomously, and drive projects forward without heavy oversight.</li> </ul> It Would be Really Cool if you Also Have: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"> <ul> <li>Deep experience with designing or maintaining high-scale data pipelines, including streaming, batching, or real-time enrichment workflows.</li> <li>Experience with micro-services or micro-frontend ecosystem architectures.</li> <li>Experience leading workshops, sharing knowledge internally, or driving community practices.</li> <li>Experience participating meaningfully in recruiting - crafting interview questions, conducting technical interviews, and contributing to hiring decisions.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> About Us: Commerce is evolving faster than the systems built to support it.
