Founded in 2017,</strong><strong>&nbsp;we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.</strong></p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div></div><p></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Field Service Technician, Solar and Battery Storage</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Redwood Materials is seeking a Field Service Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our growing fleet of Energy Storage Systems (ESS) across remote and regional field locations. This role is critical to our mission by ensuring maximum uptime of battery storage installations through proactive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and field repairs.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">You will travel extensively (up to 75%) to remote ESS sites, perform hands-on electro-mechanical service work with minimal oversight, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. Solar experience is a plus but secondary to core battery storage expertise.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Field Service &amp; Maintenance:</strong></span> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Travel up to 75% to remote ESS installations to deliver expert-level field repairs, comprehensive maintenance, and advanced system troubleshooting of battery storage equipment, including electrical, mechanical, power electronics, and control systems.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Execute routine and preventative maintenance, inspections, and commissioning of battery storage systems.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Respond to service requests, complete work orders, and maintain detailed documentation of activities..</span></li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Project &amp; Contractor Oversight:</strong></span> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Manage on-site field projects and coordinate with contractors/third-party vendors.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Develop and refine standard work instructions (SWIs) for field service tasks.</span></li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Safety &amp; Continuous Improvement:</strong></span> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Identify and mitigate safety hazards, particularly in high-voltage battery environments.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and EHS teams to implement process improvements.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Operate specialized tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.</span></li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong> </strong><strong>General Support:</strong></span> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Complete daily task lists and support scaling of ESS deployments.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Thrive in dynamic outdoor and variable-temperature field conditions.</span></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills with preference for battery storage / ESS systems.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Solid background in electrical systems (high/low voltage), inverters, BMS, and mechanical maintenance.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work independently with a self-motivated, safety-first mindset in remote locations.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency with tools, diagnostic equipment, and field service documentation.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs., climb, bend, and perform tasks in varied field environments.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Passion for sustainability and advancing the energy transition.</span></li> </ul> <p></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The position is full-time.
