Job Description
Saalex is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer in Ridgecrest/China Lake, CA to support engineering projects involving the design, development, testing, integration, and sustainment of mechanical systems and equipment. The selected candidate will work closely with engineers, technicians, and project teams to support the successful execution of technical programs.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $88k-$115k annually (depending on experience)
Work Location: Onsite.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components.
- Support fabrication, installation, integration, and testing activities.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, models, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses related to structural, thermal, or mechanical system performance.
- Support troubleshooting and corrective action efforts for mechanical equipment and assemblies.
- Participate in design reviews and technical meetings.
- Assist with materials selection and evaluation activities.
- Support system verification, validation, and acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing personnel.
- Ensure engineering products comply with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
Required:
- 3-5 years of professional engineering experience.
- Experience supporting electrical design, testing, integration, or troubleshooting activities.
- Familiarity with engineering principles, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and engineering specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Desired:
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
- Familiarity with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, OrCAD, Altium, or similar tools.
- Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal analyzers.
- Knowledge of system integration and verification processes.
- Familiarity with military standards and engineering documentation practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related engineering desired.
Security Clearance:
Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
